A New Thing Begins
A New Thing Begins
In October 2002, Eastside House of Restoration Church was established and located in Keanae, Maui. Services were held under canvas tents and then later in the Keanae congregational church, Lanakila Ihiihi O Iehowa Ona Kava. Apostle John and his family resided in Pastor Pearl Pahukoa's cottage, worked in the lo'i (taro patch) and tried to live a life that reflects Jesus within that very beautiful and special community.
In 2003, we moved to Hana, Maui where we saw more families restored, and hearts and lives changed by the love of Jesus Christ. While in Hana we started many outreach missions - annual Thanksgiving Kupuna luncheon, community prayer box, a prayer tent at every community event, Adopt-a-Highway, morning prayer walks, and much more. Eastside Souljahs were ON A MISSION!
Growth & Increase
Growth & Increase
In 2006, we expanded our reach to include Central Maui with the first service being held in a meeting room at the Maui Beach Hotel.
In 2007, our name changed to In His House of Restoration Church in order to reach people who don't only live on the east side of Maui. We held services at many locations until 2010 when we leased a space at 296 Alamaha Street in Kahului, Maui. While at that location, God began to use us as a "community-based church with global impact." We launched several community outreach programs, which includes Broke Da Bread, Ka Hale A Ke Ola meals, Mercy Run, and much more. We also launched some global efforts with our mission teams that were sent to Israel, Nicaragua, India and Kenya. We've seen so many miracles in our families and our community.
In 2019, God opened the door to a new location...and the building project is well underway. Today we hold church services in Central Maui, Hana and Kaupo.
